FDA Continues Important Work on Substance Use and Overdose Prevention Efforts reviews the 7 recommendations made to FDA by the National Academies for Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) in its 2017 report, “Pain Management and the Opioid Epidemic.” Robert M. Califf, MD, Commissioner of Food and Drugs, writes that he had requested the report during his previous stint under the Obama administration.
